Our history

Follow our story from the creation of a pioneering new concept in the UK in 1983, the founding of Audley Villages in 1991 followed by the launch of the UK's first luxury retirement village, Elysian Residences in 2013, and Mayfield Villages in 2016, and ahead to the most recent community opening.

AEM Living is home to three sister brands, Audley Villages, Elysian Residences, and Mayfield Villages. Together, we are elevating the standard of retirement living across the UK.

The group is currently operating 25 open integrated retirement communities with a further 6 in planning and development.

We champion the retirement sector as a whole, and as such are a founding member of the Associated Retirement Community Operators (ARCO) trade body.

Membership of this organisation means we are at the forefront of setting best practice in the Integrated Retirement Community sector, allowing us to act as a united voice when representing the interests of older people in engagement with both the private and public sectors, including government.
